FOREST FIRE PHOTOGRAPHS

These forest fire photographs were created in cooperation with The Nature Conservancy in North Carolina. I have been trying to create images that show what much of the North Carolina landscape was like hundreds of years ago when wildfires and the plant communities that relied on them were more common. The Nature Conservancy uses controlled burns as part of their management and restoration of fire-dependant ecosystems and were kind enough to allow me to tag along. I would not have been able to make these images without their help.
